Diet is absolutely not in my vocabulary (no surprise, really, as cupcakes is part of my blog name). The very word diet makes me cringe. I mean really, who can bare the thought of swearing off cupcakes, chips and queso, and Haagen Dazs Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream? Indeed, I’m definitely a foodie and dessert enthusiast with a full-blown passion for all things yummy. Now, I’m not suggesting consumption of your favorite junk foods with wild abandon, but I am a firm believer that if you hit the gym routinely, you can occasionally indulge in the stuff that’s found on the top of the food pyramid list (thus, my love-hate relationship commitment to exercise). I have a DVD arsenal that reads like the who’s who of fitness gurus: P90X, Tracy Anderson, Jillian Michaels, Brook Burke, and Dancing With The Stars Ballroom Buns & Abs. (What? It’s all about tango-ing my way to a firmer tush.) As the saying goes, no pain, no gain, right? Bring on the calorie torching (so that I may have that mini cupcake later)…
So, with hard-core calorie burning comes some seriously sore muscles. Ah yes, those lunges and burpees deliver the calorie-melting goods, along with a big dose of achy muscles. And I’m not sure if my constantly distressed muscles are a testament to my exercise intensity or the fact that I need to work on my endurance, but either way I recently decided to find a line of goodies to soothe my muscles post gym sessions. My search led me to Aromafloria’s Muscle Soak line and it was love at first rub. This oh-so-amazing line includes everything sore muscles need from a muscle soak bubble bath to a massage oil that helps relieve tired muscles with its icy hot element. So whether you’re a diehard fitness enthusiast or purely love products that deliver some major pamper-me ahhhhh factor, you’ll be a fan of these bath and body goodies. Here are my go-tos:
Aromafloria Muscle Soak Bath & Body Oil ($17)
This double-duty bath and body oil delivers an icy hot sensation that sends your aches and pains packin’ with a big does of ahhhhh-some rejuvenation, to boot.
Aromafloria Muscle Soak Ocean Mineral Bath Salts ($22)
This smart bath salt has active ingredients that help relieve tense muscles as well as essential oils that help relax you from head to toe (literally). Warning: these bath salts might cause a “prune-like” effect as you’ll never want to leave the bathtub.
If you want to check out the complete Muscle Soak line, you can find Aromafloria’s products at a number of retailers including Ulta and Target or via their website. Spin class? Cross Fit? P90X? Bring it on! With these muscle saviors, you’ll happily replace the adage “no pain, no gain” with “sore muscles, no worries”. Happy muscle soaking, beauty enthusiasts!
